If you are starting from the Mount Pleasant Town Centre, head southwest on US-17 S toward the I-526 E ramp. Walk approximately 0.3 miles until you reach the intersection with the I-526 E ramp. Turn left onto I-526 E and continue walking for about 1.5 miles until you reach the exit for US-17 S. Follow the pedestrian path leading to US-17 S and continue walking for about 3 miles. After crossing the Cooper River Bridge, continue straight onto Broad Street. Walk another 0.5 miles until you reach Cumberland Street. Turn right onto Cumberland Street, and after a few blocks, you will arrive at the Powder Magazine located at 79 Cumberland St.
Bicycle
If you have access to a bicycle, start from the Mount Pleasant Town Centre and head southwest on US-17 S. Follow the bike lanes along US-17 S for approximately 3 miles until you reach the Cooper River Bridge. Cross the bridge and continue onto Broad Street. After about 0.5 miles, turn right onto Cumberland Street. The Powder Magazine will be on your right at 79 Cumberland St. This route is approximately 4 miles in total.
Public Transportation
To reach the Powder Magazine using public transportation, begin at the Mount Pleasant Town Centre and board the CARTA bus at the nearest bus stop. Take the Route 40 bus heading towards the Charleston City Market. Stay on the bus for about 25 minutes until you arrive at the stop near Broad Street and Cumberland Street. Once you disembark, walk west on Broad Street for about 0.5 miles. Turn right onto Cumberland Street, and you will find the Powder Magazine at 79 Cumberland St.
