Car
From any location within Pere Marquette State Forest, head south on M-37 towards Baldwin, MI. Continue for approximately 20 miles until reaching the junction with US-10. Merge onto US-10 North and continue for about 10 miles. Take the exit for M-22 North towards Crystal Lake/Arcadia. Follow M-22 for approximately 15 miles. Turn left onto Gilbert Rd, where you will see signs for Arcadia Dunes: The C.S. Mott Nature Preserve. The entrance will be on your right.

Public Transportation
Public transportation options are limited in this rural area. The nearest bus station is in Manistee, MI, about 30 miles from Pere Marquette State Forest. Travelers must first take a taxi or a rideshare service from Pere Marquette State Forest to Manistee. Once in Manistee, you can catch a bus to Arcadia. However, this may require multiple transfers, and it is advisable to check local bus schedules in advance as they may not run frequently. Expect costs for the taxi to be around $50-$70.

For the adventurous, a biking route can be undertaken from Pere Marquette State Forest. Head south on M-37 and follow the same route as described for cars. This route is approximately 45 miles long and will take several hours to complete. Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks, as well as a map or GPS device for navigation. The ride will take you through beautiful Michigan scenery, but be aware of traffic on the roads.
