Getting There

• Car

  If you're already in Pere Marquette State Forest and are driving to Pere Marquette Park, head southeast on State Park Road. Continue onto N River Rd and follow it until you reach the intersection with M-120. Turn right onto M-120 and follow it for approximately 10 miles. Then, take a left onto E Apple Ave (M-46) and continue for about 2 miles. Finally, turn right onto Channel Dr, and you will see Pere Marquette Park on your left at 3510 Channel Dr, Muskegon, MI 49441.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, you will first need to take a local bus or shuttle to Muskegon. Once in Muskegon, you can use a local bus service to reach Pere Marquette Park. The Muskegon Area Transit System (MATS) operates buses that can take you to the park. Check their schedule and routes to find the most convenient bus line to Channel Dr. Note that you may need to pay a fare, which is generally around $1.50 for a single ride.

• Bicycle

  For those who are biking, you can take the scenic route through the State Forest. Start by heading towards State Park Road and make your way to N River Rd. Follow the same path as the car route, but enjoy the natural surroundings. There are bike trails that connect to M-120, and you will find bike lanes on the roads. Ensure you wear a helmet and follow all traffic rules. This option is free, but make sure your bike is in good condition.

• Walking

  If you prefer to walk, it is a longer trek from various locations in the forest. Head towards State Park Road and follow the same route as the biking option. However, walking may take several hours, so ensure you have appropriate footwear and water for the journey. If you are staying close to the park, you can walk along the trails that lead to Channel Dr. This option is free.
