Car
From any location in Lake of the Woods, head south on MN-11. Continue on MN-11 until you reach the junction with US-2. Take US-2 east towards Park Rapids. After about 50 miles, take a left onto MN-71 south towards Park Rapids. Follow MN-71 for approximately 12 miles. Then take a left onto Main Park Drive, which leads directly into Itasca State Park. The park entrance will be on your right. Note that there is a vehicle entrance fee of $7 for a single vehicle.

While public transportation options are limited in this rural area, you can take a Greyhound bus from Roseau to Park Rapids. The nearest Greyhound station is in Roseau. After arriving in Park Rapids, you can call a local taxi to take you the remaining 24 miles to Itasca State Park. Expect to pay around $30-$50 for the taxi ride. Be sure to check the Greyhound schedule in advance to plan your trip accordingly.
