Walking
From the center of Everest Base Camp, head towards the main trekking path leading back to Gorak Shep. Follow the trail that runs along the Khumbu Glacier, taking care to stay on marked paths. After approximately 2 hours of walking, you will reach Gorak Shep. Here, you will need to either continue your trek back down to Lukla or return to your base camp. Always check with local guides about the best routes, as conditions can change rapidly.
Helicopter
For a faster option, consider booking a helicopter ride from Everest Base Camp to Kathmandu. This can be arranged through your trekking company or local agencies in Gorak Shep. This option is significantly more expensive, typically costing between $500 to $1,200, depending on the service provider and number of passengers. Ensure you confirm the flight schedule, as weather can affect helicopter operations.

Flights can be booked in advance or upon arrival at the Lukla airport.
Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu
Upon reaching Lukla, you will need to purchase a ticket for your flight back to Kathmandu. Prices range from $150 to $200 per person, and it is advisable to book your flight in advance due to the high demand during peak trekking seasons.
