Walking
From the Patan Durbar Square, head east towards the main street (Sukedhara). Continue straight onto the bustling street filled with shops and cafes. Walk for about 15 minutes until you reach the junction where you will see a sign for Kirtipur on your left. Turn left at the junction onto the road leading to Kirtipur. Continue along this road for approximately 20 minutes, following the signs. You will pass through the quaint neighborhood of Kirtipur, which has a mix of traditional and modern architecture. Once you enter Kirtipur, keep an eye out for the Kagyu Institute of Buddhist Studies, which is situated on your right. It is a prominent building that is hard to miss.

Alternatively, from the Ashok Stupa in Patan, head south towards the main road. Cross the road and continue straight towards the Thapathali area. Walk for about 10 minutes until you reach the bridge over the Bagmati River. Cross the bridge and head straight onto the road leading to Kirtipur. After about 30 minutes of walking, you will arrive at Kirtipur. Look for the Kagyu Institute of Buddhist Studies on your right as you enter the area.
