Getting There

Walking
Start your journey from Patan Durbar Square, a central point in Patan. Head south on the main road (Mangal Bazar) towards Lagankhel. Continue walking until you reach Lagankhel Chowk, a busy intersection. From Lagankhel Chowk, take a left onto the road leading to the Ring Road (the main highway). Walk along the Ring Road for about 15 minutes, where you will see a bus stop for local buses heading towards Markhu. Note that buses can be crowded, so be prepared to wait for a bit.

Once you reach the bus stop at Lagankhel Chowk, board a local bus heading to Markhu. The bus ride will take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on traffic. Keep an eye out for the bus conductor announcing Markhu, or ask fellow passengers to help you. The bus will drop you off near the entrance to Khulekhani Lake, but you may need to walk about 30 minutes uphill to reach the viewpoint.

After getting off the bus in Markhu, start walking towards the lake. Follow the signs that direct you towards Khulekhani Lake Viewpoint. The path may be steep in certain areas, so wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for a bit of a hike. Enjoy the scenic views as you make your way up. The total walking distance from the bus drop-off to the viewpoint is around 2 kilometers, and it should take you about 30 minutes to reach the top.
