Walking
Start at Patan Durbar Square, a central location in Patan. Head east on the main road towards Lagankhel. After about 1 kilometer, you will reach Lagankhel Bus Park. From here, take a local bus or microbus heading to Bhaktapur, but inform the driver you want to get off at Godavari. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you reach Godavari, get off at the main junction. From Godavari, look for the trail leading towards Phulchoki Hill. Follow the well-marked path for about 1.5 to 2 hours, which will lead you through lush greenery and scenic views until you reach the Phulchoki Mata Temple.

If you prefer a more adventurous route, from Lagankhel, you can take a path that leads directly to Godavari. From Godavari, the trail to Phulchoki Mata Temple begins at the entrance of the Phulchoki Park. This hike is a bit more challenging, so ensure you are wearing appropriate shoes and have enough water. The trail is steep in some areas but offers beautiful views of the Kathmandu Valley. The entire hike from Godavari to the temple can take about 1.5 to 2 hours.
