Getting There

Walking
Start at the Hoboken Terminal. Exit the terminal and head towards the waterfront promenade. Walk along the promenade towards the south, enjoying views of the Manhattan skyline. Continue walking until you reach the PATH train station. Take the PATH train to 33rd Street in Manhattan. After exiting the PATH train, walk east on 33rd Street until you reach 6th Avenue. Turn left on 6th Avenue and walk until you reach 20th Street. Turn right on 20th Street, and you will find the Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site at 28 E 20th St.

Public Transportation (Bus)
From any location in Hoboken, make your way to the nearest bus stop that services NJ Transit. Board a bus heading towards New York City. Ensure that the bus you take goes to a stop near the PATH station, such as the Port Authority Bus Terminal. Once you arrive at the Port Authority, transfer to the subway and take the A, C, or E train to 34th Street-Penn Station. From there, walk east along 34th Street to 6th Avenue, then turn left on 6th Avenue. Continue to 20th Street, then make a right turn. The Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site will be on your right.

Bicycle
If you have access to a bicycle, start at the Hoboken Terminal and head towards the waterfront. Follow the Hudson River Greenway path north. This path will lead you directly to Manhattan. Once you reach the bike path on the Manhattan side, continue heading uptown along the river. When you reach 20th Street, turn left and bike towards E 20th St. The Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site will be on your left.
