Getting There

  • Walking

    Starting from the center of Los Alamos at Ashley Pond Park, head southwest on 20th Street towards Central Avenue. At Central Avenue, turn left and walk east until you reach the intersection with Diamond Drive. Continue straight onto Diamond Drive. As you walk, you will see signs directing you towards Bandelier National Monument. Stay on Diamond Drive until you reach the entrance to Bandelier National Monument, which will be on your right after about 7 miles. Follow the entrance road to the Visitor Center, located at 15 Entrance Rd, Los Alamos, NM 87544.

  • Bicycling

    From the Los Alamos town center, take the bike path that runs parallel to Central Avenue heading east. Continue on the bike path until you reach Diamond Drive. At Diamond Drive, turn right and follow the road to the Bandelier National Monument entrance, which is approximately 7 miles away. Make sure to watch for traffic as you approach the entrance, and continue straight to the Visitor Center located at 15 Entrance Rd, Los Alamos, NM 87544.

  • Public Transportation (Bus)

    For public transportation, check the local bus schedule for the Los Alamos Public Transportation system. Catch the White Rock Shuttle at a nearby bus stop (for example, at the Los Alamos Library or the Los Alamos Visitor Center). The shuttle will take you towards White Rock and stop near the Bandelier National Monument entrance.
