Car
From the Santa Fe National Forest, head south on NM-285 S. Continue on NM-285 S for about 50 miles until you reach the junction with US-70 E. Take the exit toward US-70 E and merge onto US-70 E. Continue on US-70 E for approximately 50 miles. Look for signs directing you to White Sands National Park, located just off US-70 E. The entrance to the park is at White Sands Blvd, where you will pay the entrance fee of $25 per vehicle.

Public Transportation
While direct public transportation options are limited, you can take a Greyhound bus from Santa Fe to Alamogordo. From Alamogordo, you will need to use a local taxi or rideshare service to reach White Sands National Park, which is about 15 miles away. Be sure to check the latest bus schedules on the Greyhound website and plan for the taxi fare to the park, which may cost around $30-$40.

If you are feeling adventurous and are prepared for a longer journey, consider cycling from the Santa Fe National Forest. Follow NM-285 S to US-70 E, which is approximately a 100-mile ride.
