Getting There

  • Bus

    From downtown Ithaca, head to the nearest bus stop to catch the Tompkins Consolidated Area Transit (TCAT) bus. Take the TCAT Route 13 towards Trumansburg. The bus will make stops along the way, so stay on until you reach the stop at the intersection of Trumansburg Rd and the Museum of the Earth. The museum is located just a short walk from the bus stop.

    If you are staying in downtown Ithaca, you can walk to the Museum of the Earth. Start on State St heading north, then turn left on N Tioga St. Follow N Tioga St until you reach the intersection with E State St, where you will turn right. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Trumansburg Rd. Turn left onto Trumansburg Rd and continue straight; the museum will be on your left at 1259 Trumansburg Rd. Note that this walk is approximately 2 miles and may take about 40-50 minutes.

    If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bike from a local shop in Ithaca. Start from downtown and head towards the Cayuga Waterfront Trail. Follow the trail north until you reach the intersection with Trumansburg Rd. Turn left onto Trumansburg Rd and continue biking until you reach the Museum of the Earth at 1259 Trumansburg Rd. The bike ride will be approximately 2 miles and take around 15-20 minutes.
