    To reach the East Village in Manhattan from Yonkers, start by heading to the Yonkers Transit Center, located at 1-27 E Main St. Take the Bee-Line Bus #1 towards Mount Vernon. After about 15 minutes, get off at the last stop. Once there, transfer to the Metro-North Railroad at the Mount Vernon East Station. Take the train headed to Grand Central Terminal. The ride should take approximately 30 minutes. From Grand Central, exit and walk to the S (Shuttle) subway line at 42nd Street towards Times Square. Transfer to the 6 train at 33rd Street, heading downtown. Get off at Astor Place Station, and you will be in the East Village.
