Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving, take State Highway 60 towards Takaka. From there, follow the signs to Wainui Bay. Once you reach Wainui Bay, turn onto Wainui Falls Road. The parking area for Wainui Falls is located at the end of this road. Please note that there may be parking fees, so have some cash on hand just in case.

  • Public Transportation

    If you are using public transport, you will first need to take a bus to Takaka from either Nelson or Motueka. From Takaka, you can catch a local bus that heads towards Wainui Bay. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as services may not run frequently. Once you arrive in Wainui Bay, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 km along Wainui Falls Road to reach the parking area for the Wainui Falls track. Be prepared for a bit of a hike as the road is not suited for pedestrian traffic.
