Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the Abel Tasman National Park entrance at Marahau. Take the State Highway 60 north towards Motueka. After approximately 14 kilometers, turn left onto the Takaka Hill Road (State Highway 60) and continue for about 23 kilometers until you reach Takaka. Once in Takaka, turn onto Abel Tasman Drive and then take a left onto Rawhiti Cave Track. The car park for the Rawhiti Cave Track is located at the end of this road. Note that parking may require a fee, so ensure you have some cash on hand.

To reach Rawhiti Cave via public transportation, take a bus from Nelson to Takaka. Once you arrive in Takaka, you can either hire a taxi or use a local shuttle service to get to the Rawhiti Cave Track. Ensure to check the bus schedules in advance. The shuttle may incur additional costs, typically around NZD 30-50 depending on the provider. Upon reaching the Rawhiti Cave Track, you will find the parking area where you can begin your hike.
