The bus will take you through the scenic Waitakere Ranges and drop you off at the intersection of Piha Road and Log Race Road. This journey takes about 45 minutes to an hour. Once you arrive, walk down Log Race Road for about 10 minutes until you reach the entrance to the Mercer Bay Loop Walk, which is clearly marked.

From Auckland's Britomart Transport Centre, take the Western Line train towards Swanson. Get off at the Swanson train station. From there, catch bus route 150 towards Piha. The bus will take you directly to the intersection of Piha Road and Log Race Road. After getting off, walk down Log Race Road for about 10 minutes until you reach the Mercer Bay Loop Walk entrance.
