Walking
From the beachfront at Mission Bay, walk east along the waterfront path. This scenic route offers stunning views of the Hauraki Gulf. Continue walking until you reach the end of the beach area, where you will see a small pier. Follow the path that leads to the pier and keep walking straight. After approximately 20 minutes of walking, you will reach the base of the Bean Rock Lighthouse. Note that the lighthouse itself is not accessible to the public as it is a working lighthouse, but you can enjoy the views from the nearby shore.

Ferry
For a more adventurous option, you can take a ferry from Mission Bay to the nearby suburb of Devonport. From Mission Bay, walk to the ferry terminal located at the end of the beach area. Board the ferry that travels to Devonport (check the ferry schedule for departure times). Once you arrive at Devonport, enjoy a scenic walk along the waterfront towards the coast heading back towards the lighthouse. This option is particularly pleasant on a sunny day and costs approximately NZD 12 for a one-way ticket.
