Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Devonport Ferry Terminal, head east on Victoria Road towards the intersection with King Edward Parade. Turn left onto King Edward Parade and continue walking along the waterfront. Follow the path for about 15 minutes, enjoying the views of the harbor. You'll pass the Devonport Yacht Club and several parks along the way. Continue until you reach the entrance to the Maungauika/North Head Historic Walk. From there, make your way up the path leading to North Head, where you will find Cosy Beach on the other side of the headland.

  • Bicycle

    If you have access to a bicycle, you can rent one from a local shop in Devonport. Start from the Devonport Ferry Terminal and head east on Victoria Road. Turn left onto King Edward Parade and cycle along the waterfront for about 15 minutes. Look for signs directing you to the Maungauika/North Head Historic Walk. Follow the path to reach Cosy Beach. Please ensure to park your bicycle securely when you reach the beach.

  • Public Transport

    Although Cosy Beach is best accessed by walking or cycling, you can take a local bus if necessary. Catch the bus from the Devonport Ferry Terminal towards North Head. Ask the driver to drop you off near the entrance to the Maungauika/North Head Historic Walk. From there, it’s a short walk to reach Cosy Beach. Note that bus fares range from NZD 2.50 to NZD 5.00 depending on your destination.
