If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Tauranga. Head north on State Highway 2 (SH2) for approximately 31 kilometers. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto State Highway 2 towards Waihi. Continue on SH2 for about 15 kilometers until you reach Waihi. From Waihi, take the Waihi Beach Road and drive for about 11 kilometers. You will reach Waihi Beach. Once you arrive at Waihi Beach, look for signs directing you to the Sunrise View Point, which is located along the beach. Parking is available near the beach access points, but be mindful of any parking restrictions.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus from Tauranga to Waihi. The bus service is provided by Baybus, which operates daily routes. The bus journey takes about 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at the Waihi bus station, walk towards Waihi Beach Road, which is approximately a 20-minute walk. After reaching Waihi Beach, follow the beach access signs to the Sunrise View Point. Note that there may be limited services, so check the Baybus schedule in advance.

If you are already in Waihi Beach, the Sunrise View Point is accessible on foot. From the main beach area, head towards the southern end of the beach where the Sunrise View Point is located.
