Start at the Christchurch City Centre. Head to the Bus Exchange located at 37 Lichfield Street. From there, take the bus number 135 towards 'Cashmere'. Make sure to check the timetable for bus schedules. After about 30 minutes, disembark at the stop named 'Hoon Hay Road near Cashmere High School'.

From the bus stop on Hoon Hay Road, walk southeast towards Cashmere Road. Turn right on Cashmere Road and continue until you reach the intersection with Summit Road. You will start to see signs for 'Sugarloaf Scenic Reserve'. Continue walking up Summit Road for approximately 1.5 kilometers. The entrance to Sugarloaf Scenic Reserve will be on your left.

Head to Hoon Hay Road and then cycle up Cashmere Road. Be prepared for a steep ride as you approach Summit Road.
