Start at the Christchurch Central Bus Station. Take bus number 3 or 28 towards Sumner. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the Ferrymead stop, which is near the Ferrymead Bridge. From the bus stop, walk along Ferrymead Park Drive for about 10 minutes until you reach the entrance of Ferrymead Heritage Park at 50 Ferrymead Park Drive.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the many rental shops in central Christchurch. Head towards the south, following the Avonside Drive. Take the cycle path along the river, which leads you to the Ferrymead area. Once you reach Ferrymead Park Drive, turn right and continue for about 5 minutes until you reach the entrance of Ferrymead Heritage Park at 50 Ferrymead Park Drive.

Walking
If you're up for a long walk, you can start from the Christchurch Botanic Gardens. Head southeast towards Rolleston Avenue, then turn right onto Worcester Boulevard. Continue walking until you reach the Ferry Road. Follow Ferry Road until you reach the Ferrymead Bridge. Cross the bridge and continue along Ferrymead Park Drive, which will lead you directly to the entrance of Ferrymead Heritage Park at 50 Ferrymead Park Drive, approximately a 1.5-hour walk.
