From there, walk towards Sumner Beach, and follow the coastal path leading to Taylors Mistake. The Godley Head Walkway begins at 224 Taylors Mistake Road, which is about a 20-minute walk from the beach.

    If you are within the central city area, you can walk to Godley Head Walkway. Start from Cathedral Square and head south on Colombo Street. Continue until you reach the intersection with Bealey Avenue, and turn left. Walk east until you reach the Avon River, then follow the river south to the intersection with the Port Hills Road. Continue along Port Hills Road until you reach Sumner. From there, head towards Taylors Mistake, which is about a 30-minute walk from Sumner Beach.

    If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local bike rental shops in Christchurch. Start at the Christchurch City Centre and ride towards the Avon River Trail.
