If you're driving, start from the center of Fox Glacier village. Head south on Cook Flat Road, which will turn into Haast Highway (State Highway 6). Continue on Haast Highway for approximately 5 kilometers. Look for the designated parking area for the Fox Glacier South Side Walk on your right. There are clear signs indicating the parking area for the walk.

The bus will typically drop you off at a stop near the Fox Glacier South Side Walk entrance. Once you get off the bus, walk back along Haast Highway for about 200 meters until you see the entrance to the walk and the parking area on your left. If you are staying in Fox Glacier and prefer to walk, you can follow Haast Highway on foot. Starting from the Fox Glacier village center, it's about a 1-hour walk (approximately 5 kilometers) to the entrance of the South Side Walk.
