Getting There

  • Bus

    From Rotorua city center, head to the nearest bus stop. You can catch the InterCity bus service that travels towards Putāruru. Make sure to check the bus schedules ahead of time for the most accurate departure times. The journey takes about 45 minutes to an hour. Once you arrive in Putāruru, you will need to get off at the main bus stop in the town center.

  • Walking

    After disembarking from the bus in Putāruru, exit the bus stop and head south on Victoria Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Whites Road. Turn left onto Whites Road. Follow Whites Road for approximately 3 kilometers. You will eventually reach the entrance to the Te Waihou Walkway on your left. Look for the signage indicating the Blue Spring entrance.

    If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike in Rotorua and ride to Putāruru. From Rotorua, take the Ngongotaha Road towards State Highway 5, then follow the signs towards Putāruru.
