Take the bus from Rotorua to Tīrau. Start at the Rotorua Bus Terminal located at 1170 Haupapa Street. Check the bus schedule and board a bus heading to Tīrau. The journey typically takes about 30-40 minutes. Upon arrival in Tīrau, disembark at the Tīrau bus stop, which is centrally located. From there, walk along Rotorua Road towards the museum, which is approximately a 10-minute walk.

If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bike in Rotorua. Start at the Rotorua Lakeside or any nearby bike rental shop. Follow the cycle paths heading southeast on State Highway 5. The ride to Tīrau is about 25 km and will take approximately 1-1.5 hours, depending on your cycling speed. Upon reaching Tīrau, navigate to Rotorua Road, and the museum will be on your right.

Walking to Tīrau is not practical due to the distance from Rotorua (approximately 25 km). However, if you are already in Tīrau, you can easily walk to the Tirau Museum from the town center.
