If you're driving from Napier, take State Highway 2 heading north for about 90 kilometers. As you approach Wairoa, follow the signs to Wairoa and continue onto Marine Parade. The Wairoa Old Portland Island Lighthouse is located along Marine Parade, and you can find parking nearby. Be mindful of any parking restrictions.

Once you arrive at the Wairoa bus station, the lighthouse is approximately a 15-minute walk. Head southwest on Queen Street, then turn left onto Marine Parade, where you will find the lighthouse.
