If you are in the central part of Kaikoura, start by heading towards the coast. Make your way to the Esplanade, which runs along the waterfront. From here, you can enjoy the beautiful views of the ocean while walking towards the south. Continue walking along the Esplanade until you reach the intersection with Beach Road. Turn right onto Beach Road and follow it until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto State Highway 1 (SH1) heading south. Walk along SH1 for approximately 1.5 kilometers. You will see signs for Whale Watch Kaikoura on your left. Continue walking until you reach Whaleway Station Road, where Whale Watch Kaikoura is located at the end of the road.

If you prefer to take a bus, check the local bus schedule for services that run to Whaleway Station Road. You can catch a bus from the Kaikoura township that goes towards the southern attractions. Make sure to inform the bus driver that you are heading to Whale Watch Kaikoura. The bus will drop you off as close as possible to the entrance on Whaleway Station Road. From the bus stop, it will be a short walk towards the Whale Watch Kaikoura entrance.
