Getting There

Walking
Start at the Kaikoura Visitor Centre located at 96 West End, Kaikoura. Head east on West End towards the beach. Continue straight until you reach the Esplanade and turn left. Follow the Esplanade along the coastline for about 1 km, enjoying the view of the sea on your right. Once you reach the end of the Esplanade, turn left onto Beach Road. After approximately 500 meters, look for the entrance to the Lydia Washington Walkway on your right. Enter the walkway, and follow the path uphill for about 200 meters until you reach the Kaikoura Town Lookout. The lookout offers stunning panoramic views of Kaikoura and the surrounding coastline.
