If you are in the main town area of Kaikoura, start by heading towards the Kaikoura Information Centre located at 96 West End. From the Information Centre, walk south along West End Street until you reach the intersection with State Highway 1. Cross the highway safely using the pedestrian crossings. Continue along the coastal path that runs parallel to the highway. Follow the path for approximately 20 minutes until you arrive at Hvalsafari, which is located at 2 Tawai Street. The walk offers beautiful views of the coastline and is a pleasant way to reach your destination.

From the Kaikoura Information Centre, you can take a local bus service if available. Check with the Information Centre for the latest bus schedule that operates along the coastal route.
