Walking
From the Kaikoura Visitor Centre located at 96 West End, head south on West End towards the Esplanade. After about 500 meters, turn right onto the Esplanade and continue walking along the coastline for approximately 1 kilometer. Enjoy the scenic views of the ocean on your way! When you reach the intersection with Beach Road, turn left and continue for another 300 meters. At the next intersection, turn right onto Grays Lane. The Church of the Sacred Heart will be on your left, just a short 200 meters down the road.

Bicycle
If you are renting a bicycle, start from the Kaikoura Visitor Centre at 96 West End. Cycle south on West End and then take a right turn onto the Esplanade. Follow the Esplanade for about 1 kilometer until you reach Beach Road. Turn left onto Beach Road and cycle for another 300 meters. Turn right onto Grays Lane, and the Church of the Sacred Heart will be on your left after about 200 meters. Remember to lock your bike when you arrive!

Check the local bus schedule for routes that serve the Kaikoura area. If you are at the main bus stop in Kaikoura, take a bus that heads towards the north or south along State Highway 1. Get off at the stop nearest to Grays Lane. From there, walk towards Grays Lane and turn onto it; the Church of the Sacred Heart will be about a 10-minute walk down the road on your left.
