If you are traveling by car, start from Wanaka, which is about 1 hour and 30 minutes away from Thunder Creek Falls. Drive north on State Highway 6 towards Haast. After about 50 kilometers, you will reach the junction for Thunder Creek Falls. Turn right onto the Haast Pass Highway (State Highway 6) and continue for about 10 kilometers. Look for the sign for Thunder Creek Falls on your left, where you will find a small parking area. The falls are just a short walk from the parking area.
