Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from the Rotorua i-SITE Visitor Centre, head south on Fenton Street towards the intersection with Hinemaru Street. Turn right onto Hinemaru Street and walk until you reach the end of the street. From there, you will see the lakefront. Continue walking along the lakefront pathway. Keep walking until you reach the intersection with Lake Road. Cross Lake Road and continue along the path. You will eventually see signs directing you towards Hatupatu Dr. Follow the signs through the scenic walking trails until you reach the Hatupatu Dr Car Park.

• Public Transport

  Catch the local bus from the Rotorua i-SITE Visitor Centre. You can take the bus route that goes towards the Redwoods (the Whakarewarewa Forest) and ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest stop to the Hatupatu Dr Car Park. Once you get off, follow the signs for the walking trails leading to the Scenic Point. It's only a short walk from the bus stop.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Rotorua. Start your ride from the Rotorua i-SITE Visitor Centre and head towards the lakefront. Follow the path along the lake until you reach the intersection with Lake Road. Continue to follow the signs for Hatupatu Dr. You’ll find a designated bike path that leads you to the scenic area. The ride is enjoyable and offers beautiful views of the surroundings.
