Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Rotorua i-SITE Visitor Information Centre located at 1167 Fenton Street, walk south on Fenton Street towards Victoria Street. Turn right onto Victoria Street and continue until you reach the intersection with Hatupatu Drive. Turn left onto Hatupatu Drive. Follow Hatupatu Drive for approximately 1.5 kilometers, where you will find Sulphur Point on the right-hand side. Look for signs indicating the entrance.

  • Public Transport

    Start at the Rotorua i-SITE Visitor Information Centre and walk to the nearest bus stop on Fenton Street. Board the Bay of Plenty Regional Council bus (Route 1) heading towards Ngongotaha. Get off at the stop at the intersection of Hatupatu Drive and Tarewa Road. From there, walk along Hatupatu Drive for about 500 meters towards the lake. Sulphur Point will be on your left-hand side.

  • Bicycle

    Rent a bike from one of the local rental shops near the Rotorua i-SITE Visitor Information Centre. Head south on Fenton Street and turn right onto Victoria Street. Continue on Victoria Street until you reach Hatupatu Drive, then turn left. Ride along Hatupatu Drive for about 1.5 kilometers, and you will see Sulphur Point on your right. There is bike parking available at the site.
