Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head to Motueka Quay, Motueka 7120. From Tasman, take State Highway 60 towards Motueka. Follow the highway for approximately 25 kilometers. Once you arrive in Motueka, turn left onto High Street and continue until you reach the waterfront. Follow the road until you see Motueka Quay. The Janie Seddon Shipwreck is located right along the quay, easily visible from the road. Parking is available nearby, but be sure to check for any parking restrictions.

• Public Transportation

  If you prefer public transportation, take the local bus service from Tasman to Motueka. The bus departs regularly from various points in Tasman. Upon arrival at the Motueka bus station, you will need to walk to Motueka Quay. Exit the bus station and head southeast on High Street, then turn left onto Motueka Quay. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the shipwreck. Please check the schedule for bus timings and plan accordingly, as they may vary.

• Walking or Cycling

  For those who enjoy walking or cycling, you can follow the same route as the car. Starting from central Tasman, head along the coastal pathways that lead towards Motueka. The distance is approximately 10 kilometers, which can take around 1.5 to 2 hours on foot or about 30 minutes by bike. This route offers beautiful views of the coastline and is a pleasant way to experience the area.
