    If you're in Taupo town center, start at the Taupo i-SITE Visitor Information Centre located on Tongariro Street. Head northeast on Tongariro Street toward Lake Terrace. Continue onto Lake Terrace, following it along the shore of Lake Taupo for approximately 1.5 km until you reach the intersection with Wairakei Drive. Turn left onto Wairakei Drive and continue for about 4 km. You will see signs for Huka Falls. The falls are located in a scenic park area, so look for the designated paths leading to the viewing platforms.

    From Taupo town center, rent a bike from a local bike rental shop. Start your ride by heading east on Tongariro Street. Continue onto Lake Terrace, cycling along the lake for about 1.5 km. When you reach the intersection with Wairakei Drive, turn left. Follow Wairakei Drive for about 4 km. There will be a bike path alongside this road, making it safer for cyclists.
