Public Bus
Start your journey at the Tauranga Bus Interchange located at 101 Willow Street. Take the Bayhopper Route 1 bus towards Papamoa from the interchange. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the stop at 'Bethlehem Town Centre.' Disembark the bus here. From the Bethlehem Town Centre, transfer to the Bayhopper Route 2 bus heading towards Te Puke. Get off at the 'Waitao Road' stop, which is about a 15-minute ride. Once you get off, walk about 1.5 kilometers down Waitao Road. Follow the signs leading to Kaiate Falls, which will be on your left.

If you are feeling adventurous and are near the city center, you can walk to Kaiate Falls. Start at the Tauranga waterfront and head east towards The Strand. From there, make your way to Devonport Road and continue heading northeast. Follow the signs for Waitao Road. The distance is approximately 12 kilometers, which will take you about 2.5 to 3 hours to walk. As you walk, enjoy the scenic views of the surrounding area. Once you reach Kaiate Falls Road, follow it until you reach the entrance to the falls.

Bicycle
For a more active option, you can rent a bicycle in Tauranga. Start at the Tauranga waterfront and cycle towards the city center. From there, head northeast on Devonport Road, following the same route as if you were walking. The ride to Kaiate Falls is approximately 12 kilometers and should take about 45 minutes to an hour, depending on your cycling speed. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow all traffic rules. Once you reach Kaiate Falls Road, follow the road until you arrive at the falls.
