From the Tauranga city center, walk to the nearest bus stop on Devonport Road. Take the Bayhopper bus number 20 (Blue Route) heading towards Te Puke. You will need to get off at the Waitao Road stop, which is around a 25-minute ride. After disembarking, walk along Waitao Road towards Kaiate Falls. The walk will take approximately 30 minutes. Follow the road until you reach the entrance to Kaiate Falls, which will be on your left. Look for signage indicating the start of the walking track.

If you have access to a bicycle, you can cycle from Tauranga city center to Kaiate Falls. Start by heading east on Devonport Road, then take a right onto Cameron Road. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with State Highway 2. Turn left onto State Highway 2 and cycle until you reach the exit for Waitao Road. Follow Waitao Road for about 5 km until you reach Kaiate Falls. The total journey is approximately 12 km and should take about 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on your cycling speed.
