    From the Timaru city center, walk to the nearest bus stop at the intersection of Stafford Street and Strathallan Street. Catch the bus heading towards Geraldine (look for the bus with a sign that reads 'Geraldine'). The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Geraldine, disembark at the main bus stop on Talbot Street. From there, walk south on Talbot Street for about 10 minutes until you reach Tripp Street. Turn left onto Tripp Street, and you will find the entrance to Talbot Forest Scenic Reserve.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local bike rental shops in Timaru. Head south along the coastal pathway until you reach the intersection of SH1 (State Highway 1). Follow SH1 until you reach Geraldine, which is about a 30-minute ride. Once in Geraldine, continue straight on Talbot Street. Make a right turn onto Tripp Street, and you will see the entrance to Talbot Forest Scenic Reserve on your left.

    If you enjoy walking, you can take a scenic route from Timaru to Geraldine. Start at the Timaru Botanic Gardens and head east towards the coast. Follow the coastal path south until you reach the end of the walkway, then join the road leading to Geraldine. This route will take about 2 hours of walking. Once in Geraldine, head to Talbot Street, walk south for about 10 minutes, then turn left onto Tripp Street to reach Talbot Forest Scenic Reserve.
