If you are starting from the Timaru city center, head south on Stafford Street. Continue until you reach the intersection with The Terrace, and then turn left. Walk along The Terrace until you reach the roundabout at the junction with Evans Street. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Evans Street. Continue on Evans Street as it changes into Parkside. Keep walking until you reach Craigie Avenue. Turn right onto Craigie Avenue, and Sacred Heart Basilica will be on your left at 7 Craigie Avenue, Parkside.

From the Timaru Bus Depot, take the local bus that heads towards Parkside. Get off at the stop nearest to Parkside School. From there, walk along Parkside Road toward Evans Street. Once you reach Evans Street, turn left and walk until you reach Craigie Avenue. Turn left onto Craigie Avenue, and the Sacred Heart Basilica will be located at 7 Craigie Avenue, on your left.
