If you are starting from the Timaru town center, head south on Stafford Street towards the intersection with Strathallan Street. At the intersection, turn left onto Strathallan Street and continue walking until you reach the intersection with the State Highway 1 (SH1). Cross SH1 at the pedestrian crossing and continue straight onto Karamu Street. Follow Karamu Street until you reach the entrance of Kensington Gardens. The Timaru War Memorial is located within Kensington Gardens, just a short walk from the entrance.
