Getting There

  • Train

    From Wellington's central train station, board a train on the Kapiti Line heading north. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the Plimmerton Station. Once you exit the station, walk towards the coast, which is about a 15-minute walk straight down the main road (Plimmerton Road) until you reach Plimmerton Beach.

    From Wellington, catch a number 1 or 2 bus from the Wellington Central Bus Terminal heading towards Porirua. Make sure to check the bus schedule as they run at varying intervals. Get off at the stop for Plimmerton Beach (there may be multiple stops, so ask the driver to notify you when you reach the beach).
