    From Wellington City, make your way to the Wellington Bus Interchange located at 1 Bunny Street. Take the Metlink Bus Route 110 towards Upper Hutt. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes. Disembark at the stop named 'Upper Hutt Station'. From there, walk towards the Upper Hutt train station exit and then turn right onto the main road.

    Take the train from Wellington's central station to Upper Hutt Station. The train ride takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Upper Hutt Station, exit the station and head to the bus stop right outside the station. Catch the Metlink Bus Route 110 towards Akatarawa. The bus journey will take around 15 minutes. Get off at the 'Karapoti Road' stop, and you will find yourself close to Akatarawa Forest.
