Getting There

Walking
From Mount Victoria, head southeast towards the Mount Victoria Lookout. Once you reach the lookout, continue along the pathway that leads down towards Hataitai. Follow the signs directing you to the bus stop. You will need to catch the number 2 bus heading towards Miramar. The bus fare is approximately NZD 2.00 - 4.00, depending on your travel card. Alight at the Weka Street stop.

Public Transport (Bus)
After getting off the bus at the Weka Street stop, walk a short distance down Weka Street. Wētā Cave is located at 1 Weka Street, which is just a 5-minute walk from the bus stop. Follow the street signs, and you will see the entrance to Wētā Cave on your left.

Cycling
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from a nearby rental service in Mount Victoria. From there, cycle down to the waterfront and follow the waterfront pathway towards Miramar. Continue on the path until you reach Weka Street, where you will turn left. Wētā Cave will be on your left-hand side. Note that you might need to lock your bike at a nearby bike rack.
