Getting There

    From any location in West Coast, head towards State Highway 3 (SH3) heading north. Continue on SH3 until you reach New Plymouth. Once in the city, follow signs for Port Taranaki. Turn onto Smart Road and then Hakirau Street. The New Plymouth Coastal Walkway begins at 1 Hakirau Street, on the eastern end side of Bell Block Beach. Parking is available nearby.

    From most locations in West Coast, you can take a bus to New Plymouth. Look for the InterCity or NZBus services that operate between towns on the West Coast and New Plymouth. Once you arrive at New Plymouth Bus Station, you can take a local taxi or rideshare service to reach 1 Hakirau Street, which is approximately a 10-minute drive.
