From Whangarei City Centre, head to the nearest bus stop on Bank St and take the Northland Bus service towards Tutukaka. The bus ride will take approximately one hour. Make sure to inform the driver of your destination or ask if they can notify you of when to get off. You will need to alight at the Tutukaka Block Road stop, which is the closest stop to the Walkway to Tutukaka Lighthouse.

Walking
Once you alight at the Tutukaka Block Road stop, walk towards Tutukaka Block Road. Head east towards the coast for about 1.5 km. You will see signage for the Tutukaka Head Track which leads to the lighthouse. Follow the track signs which will guide you along the scenic walkway. The trail is well-marked and takes about 30 minutes to reach the lighthouse from the starting point.

Bicycle
If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Whangarei. Once you have your bike, head towards Tutukaka on State Highway 1. Follow the road until you reach Tutukaka Block Road. This is approximately a 20 km ride, so be prepared for a moderate cycling journey. After reaching Tutukaka Block Road, head east towards the coast and locate the start of the Tutukaka Head Track for the final leg to the lighthouse.
