If you are in the Whangarei city center, start by heading north on Bank Street towards Port Road. Continue straight onto State Highway 1 (SH1) and walk until you reach the intersection with Ngunguru Road. Turn left onto Ngunguru Road, and follow it for approximately 3.5 kilometers. Whangarei Falls will be on your right, just after you cross the small bridge over the stream.

From Whangarei city center, catch the local bus service (check the latest routes and schedules) that heads towards Tikipunga. Ask the driver to let you know when you reach the stop nearest to Ngunguru Road. Once you get off, walk along Ngunguru Road for about 10-15 minutes, and you will see Whangarei Falls on your left. Alternatively, you can take a taxi from the city center directly to Whangarei Falls if public transport timings do not align with your plans.
