Public Bus

From The Dalles, head to the nearest bus stop located at 3rd and Court Streets. Catch the Columbia Gorge Express bus heading towards Hood River. You will need to transfer at the Hood River stop to the bus going towards Lyle. Make sure to check the bus schedule for exact times. Once you arrive in Lyle, WA, disembark at the closest stop to WA-14. From there, it is approximately a 15-minute walk along WA-14 to Columbia Hills Historical State Park. Follow the road, and you will see the park entrance on your left.
Bicycle

If you are cycling, start in The Dalles and head towards the Columbia River Gorge. Follow the scenic route along the river, taking the Historic Columbia River Highway to reach Lyle, WA. The ride will take you approximately 1.5 hours depending on your speed. Once you reach Lyle, continue on WA-14 for a short distance until you see the entrance for Columbia Hills Historical State Park on your left.
Walking

For those who prefer walking, start at the center of The Dalles and make your way to the nearest bus stop at 3rd and Court Streets to catch the Columbia Gorge Express. Alternatively, if you're feeling adventurous and have the time, you can walk along the riverfront path towards Lyle, which is about a 2.5-hour walk. Once you reach Lyle, continue walking along WA-14 until you reach the entrance of Columbia Hills Historical State Park.
