Getting There

Walking
From the center of Skardu, start at the Skardu Bazaar. Head south on the main road towards the Skardu Airport. Continue walking for approximately 1 kilometer until you reach the junction that leads to Kharmang Valley. Look for signposts indicating Kharmang. Once at the junction, turn left and follow the road for about 14 kilometers. You will pass through small villages and scenic landscapes along the way. Keep an eye out for local signage pointing towards Manthokha Waterfall.

After reaching the Kharmang Valley junction, continue on foot along the winding road. About 1 kilometer past the junction, you will find a trail that leads to the waterfall. This trek will take approximately 30-45 minutes depending on your pace. The trail is moderately steep, so ensure you have sturdy footwear and plenty of water. Follow the sound of flowing water, which will guide you to the waterfall.

In Skardu, you may find shared jeeps or local transport heading towards Kharmang Valley. If you wish to take this option, locate the shared jeep stand near the Skardu Bazaar. Inform the driver of your destination to Manthokha Waterfall. The ride will take about 30-45 minutes to reach the closest point to the waterfall. You may still need to trek for about 1 kilometer to reach the waterfall from the drop-off point.
