Car
If you are driving, start from the city of Cusco. Head southeast on Av. de la Cultura towards Av. Velasco Astete. Continue on this road which eventually turns into the road to Pitumarca. Follow the signs for Ausangate and when you reach the town of Pitumarca, take a right turn onto a dirt road that leads directly to the trailhead for Ausangate 7 Lagunas. The drive takes approximately 3 hours. Make sure to have a 4x4 vehicle as the road can be rough.

To reach Ausangate 7 Lagunas via public transport, take a bus from Cusco to Pitumarca. Buses leave frequently from the bus terminal in Cusco and the journey takes about 2 to 3 hours. Once you arrive in Pitumarca, you can hire a taxi or a local guide who can take you to the trailhead. The taxi ride should take about 30 minutes and cost approximately 30 to 50 soles.
