Getting There

Walking
From the main square of Machu Picchu town, head towards Avenida Imperio de los Incas. Walk straight until you reach the intersection with the river. Cross the bridge over the river to the other side. Once you are across, continue straight along the path that follows the riverbank. You will pass several small shops and restaurants. Keep walking for about 10-15 minutes until you see signs pointing towards Camping Municipal Machupicchu. The campsite will be on your left side, marked with clear signage.

If you are starting from the train station in Aguas Calientes, exit the station and head towards the main road (Avenida Pachacutec). Turn left and walk along Avenida Pachacutec. After about 5 minutes, turn right at the first major intersection onto Avenida Imperio de los Incas. Continue straight until you reach the river, then follow the previous walking instructions from the main square.
